McDill Associates Wins Two Produce Industry Awards
for Clients Tanimura & Antle and California Giant Berry Farms

[Santa Cruz, CA – November 17, 2008] McDill Associates, the Soquel, California-based strategic marketing and design agency, earned top honors for it's clients at the 2008 Produce Marketing Association [PMA] Fresh Summit for its work on behalf of Tanimura & Antle, winning the PMA Impact Award for excellence in produce packaging in the marketing messaging/content category, while California Giant Berry Farms took home a Marketing Excellence Award from Produce Business magazine for its sweepstakes promotion with Tennis Channel.

“It’s been a great year for the agency and our clients in award competitions,” smiled Melissa McDill, president of McDill Associates, adding that “we’re adding shelves to the awards area to accommodate these new entries along with six Addy Awards, three American Package Design Awards, the Summit Creative, Hermes and Davey Awards. McDill prides itself on a unique understanding of the produce and packaging industries, and these awards speak to that niche expertise.”

McDill Associates created the Tanimura & Antle “Living Lettuce” packaging and developed copy points that underscored key product benefits including unsurpassed freshness resulting from sustainable growing methods, eco-friendly package design and materials, and a longer shelf life. "McDill's knowledge of the produce industry and pulse on consumer trends that drive purchase intent, created a Living Lettuces messaging and package design that was not only attractive and eye catching, but elevated the consumers understanding of the sustainable aspects of this product at point of sale." Said Rick Antle, CEO - Tanimura and Antle.

California Giant teamed with Tennis Channel to co-brand a national promotion called “The Sweetest Match” highlighting the network’s coverage of Wimbledon and the traditional strawberries-and-cream tournament menu. In addition to a national sweepstakes promoted on 2.5 million customized clamshells per week at retail, elements included POS signage, advertising and program video shorts detailing the iconic strawberry tradition and history, all supported by a dedicated web site www.thesweetestmatch.com.

"McDill is always ready to find new and unique ways to partner with complimentary products and services creating a recognizable and successful consumer promotion that supports our products and messaging." Stated Cindy Jewell, Marketing Director - California Giant
