McDill Wins Produce Business Marketing Excellence Award [September 10, 2009] Santa Cruz, CA – For yet another consecutive year, McDill Associates has been honored by Produce Business with a 2009 Marketing Excellence Award. The widely read and respected industry publication acknowledged the “Sweet Lineup” promotion that McDill executed in collaboration with its client, California Giant Berry Farms during April through May of this year. The promotion teamed California Giant Berry Farms fresh strawberries with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA). “A Sweet Lineup” encouraged consumers to lead healthy lifestyles by staying active and incorporating fresh berries into their daily diet. Appearing in retail chains nationwide, millions of California Giant Berry Farms strawberry clamshells featured a promotional label to drive consumers to enter the sweepstakes online as well as signing up to receive sponsor newsletters, recipes and other health tips. With over 18,000 entries received and a notable percentage of those opting-in for the newsletters, the promotion was a great success for both participants. Retailer response was overwhelmingly positive, and the promotion garnered significant media coverage and trade awareness.
